Blair County Released Inmate Records
A Blair County release is an exit from the custody named in a record. It is not always a return to the community. Blair County Prison may release someone on bail, recognizance, time served, probation, or county parole. It may also transfer the person to a Pennsylvania state correctional institution, another county, the U.S. Marshals Service, or ICE. A death can close a custody record but is not an ordinary community release.
The county operates Blair County Prison. PA DOC operates state prisons and state field supervision. Blair County Adult Parole and Probation handles county supervision, while the Pennsylvania Parole Board makes state parole decisions. Each agency keeps records for its own part of the process. The source closest to the physical movement best proves the exit; the court docket best explains the legal authority.
- Release
- Departure from a named facility or agency's custody.
- Parole
- Conditional community release before a maximum sentence date, with supervision continuing.
- Probation
- A community sentence or post-confinement term supervised by a county office.
- Discharge
- The end of an agency's jurisdiction or sentence obligation.
- Detainer
- Authority or a request that may cause another agency to assume custody.
How Blair County Releases Occur
Release language should match the record. Bail or recognizance means pretrial confinement ended, not that charges ended. Time served or sentence expired means the custodial part was completed, but probation, parole, fees, or another case may remain. A parole entry signals conditional release, while probation may be imposed without a prison term or after one. Transfers and detainers require a second-system check.
| Release type | Meaning | Next source |
|---|---|---|
| Bail or recognizance | Pretrial detention ended while the case continues. | Blair UJS docket and prison event |
| Time served or expiration | The recorded custodial term ended. | Docket and any supervision office |
| County parole or probation | The person is in the community under county authority. | Blair Adult Parole and Probation |
| State parole | Physical state confinement ended, but DOC supervision continues. | PA DOC supervised-person locator |
| Transfer or detainer | Blair custody ended while another custody began. | Named receiving agency |
| Dismissal or court order | The listed custody authority ended, subject to unrelated holds. | Full docket plus prison confirmation |
A disposition code may need the jail's existing data dictionary. Do not translate a short code from context alone.
Blair County Release Record Fields
“Release record” can refer to a jail movement, release-log row, commitment-and-release history, court order, bail record, PA SAVIN message, DOC Release Date, parole Board Action, or discharge record. Each proves a narrower fact. A useful Blair County request identifies the specific booking and asks for existing fields rather than requesting a narrative explanation.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name, aliases, booking or inmate number | Identifies the person and custody episode. |
| Admission and release date/time | Sets the recorded period of confinement and exit. |
| Facility and movement code | Names the custodian and type of recorded event. |
| Release type and destination | Distinguishes a street release from a transfer or handoff. |
| Authority, court, and docket | Links the movement to the legal order or case. |
| Sentence, credit, supervision, detainer | Describes possible continuing terms or custody. |
Not every system stores every field. When the county supplies a code, ask for an existing code table. When a record omits the destination, use the docket and likely receiving locator to complete the trail.
Request Blair County Release Records
The Blair County Right-to-Know page carries the current form, policy, fee schedule, and officer information. Request the existing Blair County Prison commitment-and-release record or release-log row for a named person and bounded period. Include the booking number when known. Ask for actual release time, movement or release code, destination, receiving agency, docket, and releasable booking image. Request electronic delivery and severable fields if other material is exempt.
- Identify Blair County as the agency and the prison record as the target.
- Give the full name, booking number, and approximate admission or release dates.
- List the existing fields sought, including destination and movement time.
- Use the current county form and select an electronic format when suitable.
- Keep the written response, fee notice, extension, or denial for the record.
Pennsylvania agencies generally issue an initial response within five business days under 65 P.S. § 67.901. A qualifying extension under § 902 can add up to 30 calendar days. Fees and exemptions may apply. Judicial records belong with the Clerk of Courts; state prison records belong with PA DOC.
Blair County Release Access Limits
Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law presumes agency records public unless an exemption, another law, privilege, or court order applies. Section 708 includes exemptions, and a request must describe records clearly enough for a search. Criminal investigative, security, personal, juvenile, medical, sealed, or expunged material can be withheld or redacted. Release of one field does not make the entire prison file public.
The Office of Open Records overview explains the state process. Court dockets follow judicial access rules rather than simply mirroring executive-agency RTKL treatment. A criminal-investigative denial by a local agency may also route to the county district attorney's designated appeals officer under § 503(d).
Find Blair County Released Inmates
The full search starts with Blair custody, then follows the record to its destination. Blair County publishes no verified named current roster or recent-release feed. PA SAVIN is the best documented specific-person alert source for county jail, state prison, and state parole events. Direct prison contact can address current custody. The UJS docket supplies the case history. The record request supplies durable movement fields when transient tools do not resolve the question.
- Search Pennsylvania in PA SAVIN by name and confirm Blair County Prison is the reporting agency.
- Call Blair County Prison at 814-693-3155 with identifying details and approximate dates.
- Search the full Blair County docket, not just the results row.
- Follow a state transfer into PA DOC or county supervision into the county office.
- Check another county, federal custody, or ICE when the docket or release record identifies that path.
- Request the underlying release record if live sources conflict or no longer retain the event.
A name-only result can identify the wrong person. Compare date of birth or age, middle name, aliases, booking or DOC number, committing county, and docket. Preserve source timestamps when results differ.
PA DOC Blair Release Search
The PA DOC locator instructions cover people state-sentenced and now incarcerated or currently under Department supervision. County-only Blair prisoners are excluded. The application separates an Inmate Locator from a Department Supervised Individual Locator and updates daily. A released state prisoner still on parole belongs on the supervised side, not the inmate side.
| Search field | Use |
|---|---|
| Name and middle name | Begins a search when no number is known. |
| Inmate or parole number | Provides the strongest system-specific match. |
| DOB or approximate age | Separates similar names. |
| Committing county | Connects a state record to a Blair case. |
| Current location | Shows an institution or supervision district. |
| Release Date | Uses the exact public interface label for the transition. |
The locator does not promise a complete archive after final discharge. Its exact label is Release Date, not “Projected Release Date.” A supervised result supports physical release from state prison with continuing jurisdiction, while no result can reflect misspelling, county-only custody, another system, or full discharge.
The official PA DOC service page shows the proper statewide route for Blair cases that entered state custody.
The capture distinguishes the state system from Blair County Prison records and should not be used to infer a county-jail release.
Blair Release Events and Dockets
Blair release research crosses two record owners. The prison records the physical exit, while the Clerk of Courts keeps the Common Pleas criminal record. Magisterial District Judge dockets may come first. A bail entry, sentence, parole order, or commitment explains legal authority, but it may not give the actual door-exit time. The jail movement and docket should be paired.
Search the Pennsylvania UJS Portal by participant and Blair County. Inspect bail, commitment, transfer, disposition, sentencing, credit, probation, parole, revocation, detainer, and later orders. Recent entries may lag. Limited-access, sealed, expunged, and juvenile matters may not be publicly visible.
The Blair County Clerk of Courts is at 423 Allegheny Street, Suite 144, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, phone 814-693-3080. Posted hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a noon closure from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Contact the Clerk for the court record, not the jail.
Blair County Recent Release Options
No official named 24-hour, 72-hour, or other recent-release feed was found for Blair County. No sheriff or prison release app was verified. TextBehind handles mail, while JailCanteen and JailATM concern services or funds. None is a custody roster. The Prison Board archive may publish monthly aggregate totals, but those figures cannot name a person or distinguish every release outcome.
The current person-level route is PA SAVIN, direct prison contact, the UJS docket, and a defined release-log request. For a three-day data set, give exact start and end timestamps and request the existing log rather than asking the county to create an analysis. Ask whether the disposition was a street release, transfer, or detainer.
Note: The Released Last 24 Hours page focuses on Blair's same-day verification route and documented feed gap.
Blair County Release Turnover
Prison Board packets supply genuine local context. November 2025 materials reported 132 bookings and 133 releases. September 2024 materials reported 175 commitments and 210 releases. These totals show substantial movement through Blair County Prison, but they are not a person-level search and do not identify how many events were street releases versus transfers or detainers.
The figures should be read only in their monthly reporting context. A named person's release still requires custody confirmation and a matching docket or movement record. Aggregate churn cannot fill the county's missing public release roster.
Getting Home After Blair Release
AMTRAN Route 8 supplies a public-transit connection through Hollidaysburg and names the Blair County Courthouse as a stop. The route does not claim to stop at the prison door. Anyone arranging a ride should check the current schedule, boarding point, safe walking path, and service status before assuming direct pickup.
The AMTRAN regular routes information supports local planning after a confirmed community release. It does not establish a release time. Blair County published no verified public processing schedule, exit location, or property-return procedure in the reviewed sources, so those details must come from the prison.
Blair County Release Supervision
State and county supervision are separate. The Pennsylvania Parole Board decides eligible state parole, and PA DOC provides state field supervision. Blair County Adult Parole and Probation handles county probation and county parole. A no-result in the state supervised-person locator does not prove a Blair County supervision term ended, because county supervision falls outside that tool.
The state locator can show a Release Date, parole number, and district for a person currently under DOC supervision. Blair County's office is at 423 Allegheny Street, Suite 330, Hollidaysburg, with phone 814-693-3190. The detailed Blair County parole and probation record explains which office to check and why an absconder search is not a general supervision list.
Blair Release and Reentry Services
County planning documents identify the Blair County Re-entry Coalition. Later Prison Board material names partners such as PeerStar, Goodwill, Go Reentry Strategies, Jubilee Ministries, NAMI, and Blair County Drug and Alcohol. These organizations may help with the transition after confinement, but their involvement does not prove that a person was released or show a custody date.
Reentry and release verification serve different needs. First confirm the Blair exit and destination through the prison, PA SAVIN, docket, or receiving agency. Then use the appropriate service channel for support. Never infer custody status from program participation or a provider's contact with someone.
Blair Releases With ICE Detainers
An ICE detainer can turn an apparent Blair County release into an interagency handoff. ICE says a detainer asks the holding agency for advance notice and may request up to 48 additional hours so ICE can assume custody. Blair can therefore record an exit even when the person does not enter the community.
The ICE detainer explanation defines that process. After the county event, ICE's Online Detainee Locator can cover current ICE detention and people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days. A no-result outside that limited period proves nothing about later status. Ask Blair for the destination field and movement timestamp, then check the receiving agency.
Blair Release Records Stay Local
The active Blair County Prison occupies the historic downtown Hollidaysburg location at 419 Market Square Alley. Prison Board records document replacement planning, but no official new facility was established in the reviewed material. Until an official opening changes the record owner or address, requests and custody checks should use the active prison information rather than a speculative future site.
This local detail matters when a record spans years. The agency and facility that held the person should be named as they existed at the time. A state sentence later shifts custody records to PA DOC, but it does not change who created the original Blair booking and release movement.
Blair Release Records After Expungement
The Blair Clerk fee bill publishes a $132 expungement-petition filing fee. That fee does not establish adult eligibility or guarantee that a petition will succeed. Juvenile Probation separately warns that juvenile records are not automatically expunged and describes distinct paths. Adult and juvenile processes must not be merged.
Expungement or limited access can change what the public sees in a docket and what an agency may release. It does not justify a claim that every operational record or independent copy vanishes at once. Treat a missing public record as “not publicly found,” respect restrictions, and contact the proper court office for the authoritative status.
Blair Street Releases and Transfers
Blair's internal aggregate packets include the category “RELEASED TO STREET/ISSUED PAY CARD.” That wording proves the prison distinguishes a street release from custodial transfer categories. The packet does not publish a payment amount, individual eligibility, or a named person's release, so no added detail should be inferred.
For a named case, request the actual disposition or destination field rather than borrowing meaning from an aggregate heading. A record that says transfer, detainer, or receiving agency should lead directly to that next system. A record that says street release should still be paired with the docket and any supervision term.
Blair County Release Systems
Blair County Prison is the primary local facility. The other entries below are systems that can hold or supervise people connected to Blair cases. No state or federal prison was identified inside Blair County, yet a Blair prosecution can still produce transfer into those statewide or national networks.
- Blair County Prison: county jail exit, county records, PA SAVIN, and Blair docket.
- Pennsylvania State Correctional Institutions: state custody and PA DOC release records.
- PA DOC Parole District and Suboffice System: released state prisoners under current supervision.
- Federal Bureau of Prisons Institutions: federal sentenced custody and historical release dates from 1982 forward.
- U.S. Marshals Service Detention Network: federal pretrial and transport custody.
- ICE Detention System: current detention and limited post-ICE-release locator scope.
- Municipal Police Holding Cells: short-term arrests that may never reach Blair County Prison.
Choose the system that held the person at the time. Then confirm the exit and next destination with two sources when possible.
